Our Story

A new church rising in the heart of Dothan.

We exist to help people follow Jesus, become like Him, and do what He did — right here in the Wiregrass.

Vision & Mission

Follow. Become. Do.

Three words hold everything we hope to become. We want to help people follow Jesus, become like Him, and do what He did — right here in the Wiregrass. It's the whole shape of a life coming awake to God.

Vision · What do we see?

The future we're praying toward

We see people in Dothan follow Jesus, become like Him, and do what He did in the power of the Spirit.

This is the future we're praying toward.

Mission · What are we doing?

Multiplying disciples across our city

We participate in God's kingdom by multiplying disciples across our city.

We believe God is already at work in Dothan, and our role is to join Him by making disciples who make disciples.

Arise Dothan is a Spirit-filled, Bible-centered church plant meeting in downtown Dothan. We're young, we're small, and we're praying for a harvest — a family where the unchurched, the dechurched, and the over-churched all find a seat at the table.

Our story

How Arise began to rise

Every dawn starts small. Here's the road that led us to downtown Dothan.

Called to Dothan

A vision to plant

It began with a conviction that God wasn't finished with the Wiregrass — that this city needed a warm, Spirit-led church where anyone could come as they are. The call was clear: stay, put down roots, and plant something new in Dothan.

Gathering a launch team

Laying the foundations

Before a single gathering, there was a pre-launch season of prayer. A small launch team began meeting, dreaming, and asking God for direction — laying spiritual foundations one conversation and one prayer at a time.

Meeting at Mural City Coffee

Fellowship over coffee and Scripture

We found a home upstairs at Mural City Coffee in downtown Dothan. It's where we gather now — for fellowship, prayer, and opening the Bible together. Casual, honest, and centered on Jesus.

Toward launch

A healthy, life-giving church

We're building toward a healthy church that loves its city well — a place for the unchurched, the dechurched, and the over-churched to belong, grow, and be sent. The sun is still rising on what God is doing here, and there's room for you in it.

Core Values · Who are we becoming?

What we value

Six convictions shape who we're becoming as we follow Jesus and love our city.

Love God

We pursue Jesus above all else through worship, prayer, and obedience.

Love People

We love others with the compassion, grace, and truth of Christ.

Serve Humbly

We follow Jesus by putting others before ourselves and serving with humility.

Give Generously

We live open-handed with our time, talents, and resources for God's kingdom.

Steward Well

We faithfully manage everything God has entrusted to us for His glory.

Be Spirit Led

We depend on the Holy Spirit to guide, empower, and transform us as we follow Jesus.

Our Kingdom Rhythms · How do we participate?

Move up, in, and out

Three movements shape our life together as we join God's work in Dothan.

Move Up

Worship

We gather to worship Jesus, encounter God's presence, and be formed by Scripture and the Holy Spirit.

Move In

Community

We grow together in authentic disciple-making communities through shared life, Scripture, prayer, hospitality, accountability, and mutual encouragement as we follow Jesus and become like Him.

Move Out

Mission

We join God's work throughout our city by serving others, sharing the gospel, demonstrating the kingdom, and multiplying disciples.
